Son is the iconic Cuban musical genre and dance: it combines musical traditions from Europe and Africa, and is the mother of Timba and Salsa. This class will focus on dancing Son in a social setting, emphasizing musicality and fundamental body movement technique. We will sample the full Son dance repertoire, from basic closed position moves to the Tornillos.
